My name is Mr. Henry Konan, I am the credit manager of a bank in Cotonou, Republic of Benin, I am contacting you on a business transfer of a huge sum of money from a deceased account. Though I know that a transaction of this magnitude will make any one apprehensive and worried, but I am assuring you that everything has been taken care off, and all will be well at the end of the day that prompted me to solicit for your assistance.
A foreigner named Mrs. Beverly Grant died in an air crash along with her husband on the 31st October 1999 in an Egyptian airline 990 with other passengers on board. You can confirm this from the website below which was published by CNN; http://www.cnn.com/US/9911/02/egyptair990.list/index.html, since her death, the supposed next of kin who happened to be her husband died in the plane crash too leaving no one alive to make claims of this money as her heir.
We cannot release the fund from her account unless someone applies for claim as the next of kin to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines.
Upon this discovery, I now seek your permission to have you stand as a next of kin to the deceased, as all documentations will be carefully worked out by me for the funds (US$6,200,000.00) to be released in your favor as the beneficiary's next of kin.
If this fund remains on claim after four years the money will be called back to the bank treasury as unclaimed bills and the money shall be shared amongst the directors of the bank. It is on this note I decided to seek for whom his/her name shall be used as the next of kin/beneficiary to this funds rather than allow the bank directors to share this money amongst themselves at the end of the year.
It may interest you to know that we have secured from the probate an order of mandamus to locate any of the deceased beneficiaries but all efforts proved abortive. Please acknowledge receipt of this message in acceptance of our mutual business endeavor by furnishing me with the following information if you are interested.
1. A Beneficiary's name. In order for me to prepare the documents for the transfer of the funds in your name.
2. Direct Telephone and fax numbers. For our personal contact and mutual trust in each other. Upon your acceptance I shall forward to you the next of kin application form.
I shall be compensating you with 30% of the total fund on final conclusion of this project for your assistance, while 65% is for my colleagues and I, the remaining 5% is set aside for any expenses we might incur during the process of this transaction.
If this proposal is acceptable by you, please endeavor to contact me immediately. Do not take undue advantage of the trust I have bestowed in you.
Thank you for your response to my proposal, although we have not met each other before but I believe this assistance is going to be the beginning of an everlasting relationship.
I want you to know that this proposal was not sent to you by accident, it is meant for you.
If you are willing to be of assistance to accomplish this deal, a meeting could be arranged between you and myself in Amsterdam The Netherlands because I will be attending a conference starting from 15th to 22nd July 2004.
Kindly make your positive intention known so as to enable me put some finishing touches on how you will apply for the unclaimed fund while I will bring along the next of kin application form when coming to Europe.
I count on your co-operation and assistance.
Sincerely,
Mr. Henry Konan.
[He may well be in Amsterdam, but probably not to attend a conference. More likely his "master" has set him up in an "office", with a sales quota. If he makes quota, he may move up in the organization. If he gets caught, he may be imprisoned, or more likely deported. He's expendable. Like telemarketing, only more so. Meanwhile he is probably eating take-out Indonesian food and looking out the window at a rainy Amsterdam. Maybe he's a future novelist! This is just a sideline, till he gets on his feet. Right?]

Dear Mr Konan
This sounds a reasonable enough suggestion, if I can be assured of the genuineness of this offer. As it happens I was planning to visit Europe around that time anyway with my ward Dick Grayson as well as my manservant Alfred, and this would be very convenient. Perhaps any doubts I might have could be resolved then.
Are these dates of yours definite? I would need to know soon.

Dear Mr Konan
I am just about to confirm my flight details and a hotel reservation. I will probably be flying to London and then catching the connecting flight BA T69 on the 20th. Will you be able to meet us at the airport? Although I have a valet, and Dick will be with me, Alfred is getting rather old these days I am afraid and it would be a real help to have someone else on the luggage side of things.
