It means you will be able to continue communications with the bank on this matter. Trust and constancy is important and competence is a prerequisite. We would not want this to fall apart because your mental state is challenged, would we? The bank has asked me to provide them a passport, which I do not have. As an alternative, they are requesting I contact another party to act as intermediary. I am beginning to wonder if we can get this money transferred by this weekend, as there is a third party we must involve now. However, I don't think you need to call them at the moment, as they appear to be proceeding well. My short vacation will start this Friday, so we will try to get things wrapped up before then, if not, we will try to finish up early next week. You confused me again about the amount. Your email says it is $2.500,000. That is two dollars and 50 cents, with some extra zeros. You also state that it is "two million five hundred dollars", which would be $2,000,500.00. That doesn't match with the numbers, either. I will proceed under the assumption that we are talking about two million five hundred thousand dollars. In any case, I will contact this Kenneth fellow and see if he can get the paperwork straight. Mr. Blazza appears to be in failing health and it is important to make sure we don't delay this any longer. I need the commission on this money. Will there be any legal documents I must sign that will describe where the money must be invested, or will it simply be transferred to me? Heidi will not be coming, as the extra weight will require extra fuel. Not that she is fat - please don't think that! It's just that with this long of a trip fuel calculations are precise. The schedule I have for the trip has me leaving Homestead Friday afternoon. After several hops across the Caribbean, I will jump to Ascension Island and refuel. From there I will make my way to Ghana. Arrival is planned for Tuesday April 5 at about 4 or 5 in the evening. Please note - I will be arriving at TAMALE airport, as the larger international airports are sometimes unfriendly to private aircraft. Please inform Suleman of this fact. Also - the Maglab hotel will not be acceptable. It is only a two star hotel, and I am not comfortable going to a foreign country and staying in anything less than a 4 star hotel. Yes, I know that I am coming there as a vacation and see the sights. In fact, I may bring my hunting rifle and maybe see if I can hunt some big game while I am there. I've flown many places, but never been to Africa. That sounds like a great sight seeing activity. What do you recommend? I have a Weatherby 270 Magnum that can be used for bigger game. I also have a Ruger Mini 30 (hand gun), though accuracy is kind of poor with it. It's not really for hunting. I could probably link up with a safari company while I am there. It is my last waypoint before striking off across the Atlantic. I have borrowed the computer of a nice airport manager at the small civil airport here to send you email. I did not receive your last email before I left. The cell phone is a lost cause; it does not work outside the US, so no point in bringing it. As for the guns, too late. I am hiding them in the back of the aircraft and I hope this will be OK unless someone searches. I will be delayed by about a day due to weather / headwinds. My next step is to Freetown (Sierra Leone). I will attempt to get in contact when I reach Freetown. Does Mr. Suleman carry his phone with him at all times? My name is Charles Addams, and I am the family lawyer for Mr. Buck Turgidson. Based on some evidence I have from some printed email messages, your address in his address book, and his last will and testament, I believe you knew him and were in the process of transacting some business with him. It is my very unfortunate duty to inform you that we received word a few hours ago that Mr. Turgidson is missing and presumed dead in a plane crash over Cote d'Ivoir, West Africa. He was flying from Freetown Sierra Leone, to some location in Ghana (we believe Accra, though his plans had changed in route). His plane exploded about 419 miles out from Freetown. Reports from the area indicate that there was a huge fireball, an explosion which was both terrible and beautiful to behold, followed by a rain of debris from the aircraft which inexplicably included a large number of watches and handsets. I am reviewing items in his office, getting his affairs in order to assist his girlfriend and prepare for the worst when we are told officially of his death. He apparently thought highly of you. I say this for a number of reasons. These reasons include the fact that he had spoken to me of you briefly, that he had your address and phone number in his address books, and had been conducting some correspondence with you. His girlfriend also remembers his mentioning you to her. While I truly regret delivering this bad news, I need to let you know how Mr. Turgidson felt about you. Apparently he felt strongly enough that he actually had me alter his will before he left on his trip to Africa. While he was not a rich man, he was in the process of selling his tour company, and this sale is expected to complete in the next week or so. It should bring in a little more than $2.5 million, including sale of his remaining aircraft. While you are not his sole heir, he did leave a significant bequest to you, which will probably amount to about $560,000 after the sale of the tour company is completed. I can not guarantee the results of the sale of the tour company, and the will has not been officially read at this time, but I wanted to let you know of this bequest in case you wished to pursue the matter further. As you are out of the country, my duty will be limited to informing you of your inclusion in his will, after which it will be up to you to pursue the matter further if you wish. United States inheritance law does not require that we expend significant effort to deliver a bequest to a foreign citizen. Nevertheless, I feel a duty to let you know your rights.
