Date: Tue, 7 Aug 2007 Reply-To: <jsossou8@yahoo.fr> Dear Friend, I am Mr. John Sossou, a Supervisor in Ecobank, Cotonou-Benin Republic. It is my pleasure to seek for your assistance in this confidential business transaction, which will be of mutual benefit to both of us. Engr. Johnston Ellis an oil expartriate/contractor maintains a domiciliary account with our bank which I am the Account Relationship Officer and he has a credit balance of US$10,600,000.00(TEN MILLION SIX HUNDRED THOUNDSAND UNITED STATES. DOLLARS) in my branch On normal monthly routine notification, I sent a notice to his forwarded address but got no reply. After months we sent a reminder and finally we discovered from his contract employer (Shell Petroleum Corporation) that Engr.Johnston Ellis died from an automobile accident while on vacation to his country. All attempts by the Bank to trace his next of kin were fruitless On further investigation we found out that He died alongside with his Next of kin And until now no other person(s) knows about this account or could give any documentary evidence concerning this account. The total sum was US$10,600,000.00 is still standing in his favour in my bank as dormant account. No one has ever come forward to claim it by virtue of banking law in Republic of Benin after two years the money will reverted to the Beninoise Government Treasury account, if the account owner is certified dead and nobody comes forward to claim it. Now the most important thing is your support and your full coperation and also to Remain honest to me untill the end of this transaction, believing you will not disappoint me at the end after this money must have been fully processed and transferred into your bank account. At the conclusion of this business,we will have it share 40%-60% of the total amount,US$10,600,000.00. Plesaebe rest assured that as far as I am concerned this business is 100% risk free, because I have already covered every loop holes and also set my machinery at work to avoid traces. Your's Faithfully, Mr. John Sossou [Your basic Dead Bank Customer letter. But you knew that.] Raynaz, the one and only, or many

My dear Mr Sossou,
Can you tell me more about this man? If I am going to act as his "next of kin", I should have more information, don't you think? Do you think that a 50/50 split is more fair? I think 60% for me is too generous, even though I would appreciate the money. My grandkids need school supplies, and I would love to have a new car. My Hupmobile is, I fear, on its last legs. Date: Tue, 7 Aug 2007 Dear Mrs. P.E. Whytes, Thank you for your urgent reply and believe you accord to your mail to me. And also I believe that Almighty has blessed you in various ways. I will like to explain my mail further for your better understanding, What I mean is that there is this fund belonging to one of our big customers who is now late and there is nobody to claim his deposit ($10.6m) because he died along with his entire family on automobile accident while on vacation to his country. I am the Manager in charge of the account and I now want to utilize this great opportunity to make a great fortune, hence I called on you to give me your full assistance and cooperation so that this fund can be processed and transferred to you as the next of kin /beneficiary to the late account owner and It is my duty as manager to the Company to recommend to the management whom to approve claims to as the basified claimers, so you have no cause to fear at all as no risk is involved. I want to use this opportunity to tell if you can do this deal business with me because I don't want you to disappoint and I will not disappoint you at the end and you will also promise me that if the fund get into your account you will not sit on the fund. I want you to know that if there is any money that it will cost us for the transfer as my partner we will put head together as partners pay it but I don't think it will cost us money but if it will cost us money it will be a little, don't be afraid I am with you till the end. Please be rest assured that as far as I am concerned this business is 100% risk free, because I have already covered every loop holes and also set my machinery at work to avoid traces, about the 50/50, 40% is very good for you and you know that I am going to invest the half of my own share to your country which you will be taking caring it for me and investment you will have share on it, please take 40% is ok. If you agree with me then I will send to you an application of claim which you will re-write and send to the bank for the approval of the fund in your favour as the bonfire next of kin to the deceased late person, From the day send tender an application to the bank it will not take more than 12 banking working days the fund will be transfer into your account. But kindly send this information stated below to me for us to proceed. a) Full Name and your Home / Office Address: b) Telephone Number and Mobile Number: c) Fax Number: d) Private Email: e) Age: I expect to your call for the confirmation of this mail, until I hear from you soonest. Yours Sincerely, Mr. Armel Sossou. Tel + 229 90 965153 Pearl E. Whytes
My Dear Mr. Sossou,
I must tell you, Sir, that I have great mis-givings at allowing my personal information to be sent to a stranger, and you are, after all, a stranger to me! You have neglected to tell me anything about this unfortunate individual (as I requested) and nothing about yourself. I don't even know that you aren't that fellow who keeps bothering me at the shopping mall, who found out my e-mail address. You could be anybody! And who is Mr. Armel Sossou.Tel + 229 90 965153 I thought your name is John! a) My full name is Pearl Elizabeth Whytes d) You already have my Email e) Didn't your mother ever teach you that it is impolite to ask a lady her age? I cannot, in good faith, give you the rest of the information you ask for, until we know each other better, and I have more information about you and that sad wretch who was killed with his family. Where were they on vacation? I do not understand this: From the day send tender an application to the bank --What are you talking about? bonfire next of kin --Do you mean BONA FIDE next of kin to the deceased late person --"deceased" means "late" What you wrote is redundant, it is not necessary to say it twice, just as it was not necessary to send your mail twice. I also think that if we are going to share expenses of this transaction, we should share equal percentage of the money, 50/50. It's only fair that way. Awaiting your reply, Mrs. P.E. Whytes Mikhail Stroganov

Date: Thu, 9 Aug 2007 Dear Mrs.Whytes , I thank for you mail and is well noted. How are you today and your family? I hope you all are in good hearth. First of all I want to introduce myself once again, I am Mr. John Armel Sossou, Armel is my middle name and also Armel is my familyÕs name. While the telephone :00229 90 965153 is my number you can use to reach me any time you feel. About the informationÕs I requested from you, is not that I am going to use to do bad for you but to submit it in central computer and also to submit it to the attorney who will submit your application to the bank, so before the attorney will submit the application to the bank, your information has already be in the central computer. Engr.Johnston Ellis is one of biggest customers in this bank and his is a citizen of America when we heard of his death, in auto accident while on vacation to his country America, we try if we can get his relation but non. On this note I will like you to know that he did not write any WILL. Therefore, the percentage I have agreed to share 50/50 but you should not disappoint me until the end of the transaction. So you have to send to me the complete information as I requested. Meanwhile, by Monday I am going to send to you my international passport and my working ID card in as a banker. I will be expecting your call for the confirmation of this mail. Yours Sincerely,Mr. John A.Sossou Pearl E. Whytes
[The gracious widow-lady sends several helpful suggestions...]
Dear Mr. John A. Sossou,
Thank you for clearing up that name puzzlement. It was most confusing. I find that when typing my name and sending it to people, if I use the initials of both my names, then the recipient is not very surprized to learn my name. Perhaps this would be a suggestion you can use, so that valuable time is not wasted in explanations. That unfortunate chap, Johnston Ellis, died in the USA? Now that was a bad vacation! Which state, do you know? Was that mentioned in the death notice? Mr. Sossou, (may I call you John?) I am troubled by this: "...by Monday I am going to send to you my international passport and my working ID card in as a banker..." You must not send me these items. You will need your passport for any travel outside of your country, and you will need your ID for your job! Would it be easier for you to just scan these things, and send COPIES of them by e-mail? I am satisfied with your decision to share this money 50/50. I said in a previous letter that I thought 60% for me was far too generous. I think this is much better. Also, I tried several times to reach you by the phone number you provided, but all I got was a lot of noise, then a voice saying that the number is not a valid one, what was this buzzing and static? I don't trust the overseas phone systems, I think there are too many things that can disable them, dust, bugs, humidity, poor wiring, that sort of thing. Let us stay with the e-mail for the time being. Mrs. P.E.Whytes John Sossou

Date: Fri, 10 Aug 2007 Dear Mrs.Whytes, Well, I wish to thank you for your response to my answers to your questions. Hopefully, I beleive that this business relationship will lead us to a strong and deep friendship. Actually, I feel that God has blessed it, so it will be beneficial to us and our families for good and happy life. However, I am very happy about your quick response, Of course If this transaction does not require a foreigner especially from your country, I don't think I needed a second Party, I would have handled it all alone. Nevertheless, I know that you might be wondering why I have decided to trust you with this huge sum, but the truth is that I need you to pull out this money before our corrupt government will confiscate it or get forfeited to the bank as unclaimed fund. I know also that you will be amazed at the level of trust that I am willing to place in a person that I have never seen nor spoken with you. In the percentage issue I have agreed that it should equal 50/50 but any thing more than that please forget it, why I agree on that is because you and I may have some little expenses in this transaction. So if you are ready for us to work as one partner to make sure this fund is transferred into your account, just send the infomations I requested from you and let us start immediately without more delay. My phone is working if you can not get me you can send you own phone for to call you ok. I waiting to hear from you. Yours Sincerely, Mr.John A.Sossou. John Sossou

Dear Mr. Sossou,
I wrote to you a few days ago, and suggested that you send COPIES of your passport, and work ID card. I have been waiting for them, but you've neglected to do your part. Would you send them, please? I would like to see the face of a man with whom I intend to do business. I will send my picture to you when I receive yours. Thank you for asking, my family is just wonderful. My boys helped me put a gazebo in the yard. Now we can enjoy picnics in the shade, it was too dangerous for me to be outdoors in the sun--one doesn't want to risk a sunstroke, you know. [He's not doing his part...]
My dear Mr. Sossou,
Five days ago, on the 16th, I received a note from you, you wrote that you were going to send your passport and work ID by Monday. I remember very well, telling you that it was not necessary to send those documents, that you need them for travel, or for your job. A scanned COPY would be sufficient. Well, Mr. Sossou, here it is TUESDAY, and I've seen nothing from you at all! Is this how you conduct your business? If that is the case, I'm not certain that I wish to take this any farther. I know that you have accepted my proposal of an even split of the money, but I did want to refresh your memory. There should be no question or argument at all about this. Do you remember that I said my boys were going to put up a gazebo in the yard? It is just delightful. We had a wonderful picnic outdoors, and all the children played in the sprinklers. It was the jolliest afternoon! Do be a good fellow, and scan those things and send me COPIES, we want this to be finished before the children go back to school, don't we? Mrs. Pearl E. Dear Mr. Sossou,
Thank you for sending the copies you promised. My goodness, you are a very handsome fellow, it is a shame that you did not persue a career in show business! You would make a very fine living in motion pictures, as a leading man, romancing all the ladies! My heart is fluttering just thinking about you. Would you consider moving to this country, and going for an acting audition? Dear Mr. Sossou,
I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by this: "...my coming to your country is a problem because as soon as this fund is transferred into your account I will come down to your country for share of the fund..." Which is it? "Coming to America is a problem, then you will come to America! That makes no sense. As I told you previously, I can't give you my telephone number, or my address. My sons would be very upset and concerned for my safety, if they thought I had given my location to someone I just met on an e-mail invitation. You haven't said anything about my comment on your handsome looks. Are you at all interested in an interview with my nephew, Harry? He wants to meet you. As long as you have a passport, you can travel to this country. Just go to the American Embassy and apply for a visa. Be sure that you make it plain that you are a tourist. If you say it is for a job, it might take a long time to get the visa. Let me know how you feel about a career in acting. I would love to meet you when you come to meet Harry! Just thinking about being on the "ground floor" in the launching of a new star, gives me such a wonderful feeling! Waiting to hear from you, Mrs. P.E. Whytes Mikhail Stroganov

Please I want to know your mind to this transaction ok. I am waiting urgent answer and your information if you are truely want to assist me in this transaction. Mr.John A. Sossou. Pearl E. Whytes
My dear Mr. Sossou,
Why do you use the word "afraid" so often in your letter? Do I have something to fear in this transaction? If so, then perhaps you and I should part company. I thought this was a legitimate business deal, that you have worked out all the details, and we can conclude this in a dignified and timely manner. I told you that I could not, in good conscience, do business with someone who I have only met in an e-mail, without learning more about him. I thought I made that perfectly clear to you, when we first began this correspondence. I have not said anything to my sons about you, and this deal, in accordance to your suggestion. I have a few questions about you, some may seem very personal, but I have my reasons for asking. Please answer these questions truthfully, and reply. At that time, I will make my decision to give you the information you seek. 1) Your full name? 2) How old are you? 3) Married? How long? 4) Children? Ages? 5) School history? 6) Work history? If you are unwilling or unable to comply with this request, please do inform me. I have been contacted by Mr. Chukwu Farleigh, who is the personal attorney for a Mrs. Miriam Abacha, and he is offering me $15 Million dollars to help her regain her late husband's money. I will be waiting for a reply from you. Thank you. Mrs. P.E. Whytes John Sossou

Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2007 Dear Mrs. Whytes, Good-morning Mrs. Whytes, I thank you for your mail and well understood. How are your children? I hope all is well with you, if so thanks be to God. Base on the questions you asked I hope that I have given you my full name and my age which is in my international passport but meanwhile, my full name is John Armel Sossou, my age is 42 years, I am Married with two children, my first daughter is 13yrs and my son is 10years. I think I have given you the information, which I can give to you about myself, please if you want to assist me as you promised, I will like us to proceed than delaying the transaction. I am waiting your information as you promise. Be blessed with your family. Mr.John A. Sossou Pearl E. Whytes
My dear Mr. Sossou,
I have re-read my letters to you, and there is nowhere in any of them that I promised you anything. I said that I would make my decision when you provide me with the answers to my questions. I asked you: 1) Your full name? 2) How old are you? 3) Married? How long? 4) Children? Ages? 5) School history? 6) Work history? But you haven't answered half of the questions! You are married, but neglect to tell me for how many years, which I specifically asked. Where did you go to school? Do you have a university degree? How many years have you worked at the bank? How do you expect me to trust you, unless you fulfill your part? I said I would give you my decision when I have this information. I hope I can count on you to co-operate with me. Mr. Chukwu Farleigh has written again to me, and he has offered me a bigger deal. And he has, at least, given me more complete information than you have! Mrs. P.E.Whytes John Sossou

[I send Sossou's latest mail to Agent Stroganov, with this note:]
My dear Agent Stroganov,
I am forwarding the latest correspondence from Mr. "So-so", as you call him. I happened to mention to him that I have heard from Chukwu Farleigh, attorney for Mrs. Miriam Abacha, and he is becoming rather unglued. Now I must draft a letter from a semi-literate 'barrister', which I will BCC to you. You know, one can pretend to be smart, but to pretend to be a fool is something entirely different (something at which neither of us has much expertise...) I remember a quote from long ago, from a very wise source, "Far better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt!" ...I digress... On another note, I am thrilled to tell you that in the space of a week, I have won 2 different e-mail lotteries! Imagine that! I opened this mail account only 3 weeks ago, and already, I have tumbled into these fortunes, the UK Lottery, and one in Netherlands, the Kransloten. Needless to say, I must keep my wits about me in order to enable me keep these two Lads going. Warmest regards, Pearl E. Whytes Pearl E. Whytes

My dear Agent Stroganov,
I am wondering if the "letter from Chukwu Farleigh" that I composed has, in your learned experience as a Master Scam-baiter par excellence, the correct 'tone'. I've never invented a Lad, much less a Barrister-Lad, so I'm concerned if I may have gone overboard, too much mis-spelling, that sort of thing. Your thoughts on this niggling little question? I DID, however, think the lawfirm's name was very amusing. (I must admit, I didn't think it up by myself, Miss raynaz did input on this...) I wonder if he'll reply with a warning about Farleigh. Date: Wed, 12 Sep 2007 Beloveth Mrs Pearl Whytes, With due respect, i wish to remind you that your silent to my mails is a very bad development to the transaction. But i still want to believe that it is not delibrate maybe you are very busy and could not get back quickly. However, i want to categorically bring to your notice that this transaction has to be given an urgent attention hence delay could be dangerious. Honestly, if i had not made up my mind to work with you and invest the money in your country with every sincerity of mind, i would have stoped communicating with you. You demand for copies of my identity card and international passport in order to erase your fairs or doubt before forwarding your own but ever since i send them to you nothing to identify you has been received from you. You should as well agree with me that for a huge amount of money ($10.6million ) to be transferred to your bank account, there must be proper classified documents that will cover the fund and you the receiver and this is one of the reasons to demand for your information. Please i know that i am not in position to advise you or discourage you from your business with your Nigerian counter parts but as your partner i must have to tell you the gospel truth concerning Nigerian people and how the have dented the image of the West African citizens with their fraudulent attivities. They have used the name of late Abacha and his family to duped several foreigners which i believe you should have known by now. Well i have to wait for your reply with that of your information for immediate conclusion of the transaction as soon as possible. Yours respectfully, Armel John Sossou. Pearl E. Whytes
My dear Mr. Sossou,
There is no reason whatsoever to address me as your "beloveth"--which, by the way is spelled B E L O V E D. I wonder how familiar do you think you may get with me? Do you think that just because I am a widow, that I do not enjoy the attentions of men? I'll have you know that I have 3 gentleman callers, Mr. Harry Pudenda, Mr. Arthur I. Tess, and Professor Phillip Actick. And don't forget that you are a married man! Secondly, the reason that I have not responded to your last e-mail letter is that I had to travel to Amsterdam, to accept my winnings in the Krasloten lottery. At least, that was the impression that I got when I received a letter stating that, in fact, I had won over 2 million dollars! I can't imagine what could have happened to Mr. Henry Zipjen. He was supposed to meet me at the airport, so that we could go to the lottery office to collect the money. He was nowhere to be seen! I did have a very nice little stay in Amsterdam. It's a lovely city. I left my home at 3AM on Thursday, in order to get to New York, change planes, and get to Amsterdam by Friday morning. I was just exhausted! It's a good thing I can sleep anywhere, even an airplane. I just arrived home last night, so I'm getting caught up on my rest and e-mails. You were right about that Chukwu Farleigh man. All he wanted was for me to send him $7,200.00 to bribe some officials, and get some "documents" forged. Can you imagine that! I was simply appalled. It seems that a body just can't trust anyone these days! Now that you know what has been going on with me, perhaps we can resume our deal. Thank you, Mrs. P.E. Whytes John Sossou

Hello Mrs P.E.Whytes, Thank you for your wise correction but you are taking it to another level. In as much as you are a christian and have fear of God then i think i considered you as my beloved one in the lord .And besides, we are partners in business. Do not forget that i am having the intention to live and run my business in your country as soon as we are through with the transfer. However, i still want you to believe that your message did not answer my request on your information which is vital important if only you want to be a partaker of the transaction. I believe that success depends on the support of other people. The only hurdle between you and what you want to be is the support of others. Unexpected sources of help come from unpredictable quarters to the person who remain positive and enthusiastic. I do not know how positive or genuine your other business associates are, I mean the three other guys that you said that always call you on phone but i can only speak to myself and will not fail to advice you to be very careful hence had i know is the brother to mister late. Soo many people have been deceived on lottery but i wonder how this could work out for a game that you never partispated.I am only saying that you should give my business with you an urgent attention then if you still want to continue with your associates, it is left for you.I must provide the genuine legal documents for my business with you as a mark of transparency but this will be done after you might have send your full information. However, this correspondence is very official and private, and it should be treated as such. I also guarantee you that this transaction is hitch free from all legal implication . I am looking forward to receive the information for further details. Thanking you for your understanding and cooperation. Best regard, John Sossou. Pearl E. Whytes
My dear Mr. Sossou,
I mentioned that I was to meet a Mr. Henry Zjipen in Amsterdam, so that I could collect my Lottery winnings. I was not "doing business" with him "...I do not know how positive or genuine your other business associates are, I mean the three other guys that you said that always call you on phone..." Perhaps you misunderstood my meaning, I did not mean to imply that I am doing business with these 3 gentleman callers. I mean that they are romantically interested in me. I go on dates with them. They are all very high quality fellows, one is even younger than I am. "...will not fail to advice you to be very careful..." Of course I am very careful, Mr. Sossou, I am not going to risk my health or my reputation on any man who is just dating me, even though he fancies himself enamoured of me! "...had i know is the brother to mister late..." What on Earth does this mean??? I will get the information you seek, and send it off by tomorrow. I would take care of this today, but there is just too much to do, I was gone nearly a week, and things got 'piled up' I must get all this done, before I can attend personal matters. Sincerely. Mrs. P.E. Whytes John Sossou

Date: Fri, 14 Sep 2007 Hello My dear Mrs P.E.Whytes, I was pleased to receive your lovely message, thanks for your understanding . Had i know is a brother to mister late, simple means that had i know always comes let after when one must have made a painful mistake.I think you can understand me better now?. Meanwhile, i wish to remind you that the progress of this transaction is now in your hands hence i advised that you should send your information as you have promised . I can understand that you are capable enough to accomplish this deal with me and to invest the money in question in your country as soon as the transfer is made. Waiting to hear from you with your phone number and other information therein. Yours faithfully, John Sossou. Pearl E. Whytes
[Let him wait 5 days...]
My dear Mr. Sossou,
"...Had i know is a brother to mister late, simple means that had i know always comes let after when one must have made a painful mistake.I think you can understand me better now?..." I'm afraid I don't "understand you better now"! What on Earth do you mean? I realize that English is not your first language, but you, as a bank official, should be able to string together a coherent sentence in English, which is the international language of banking. It does not have to be a long sentence, but it should be one that the reader can understand. "...the money in question..." I'm not questioning anything, I take you at your word. I hope you are not playing with me. Sincerely, Mrs. P.E.Whytes John Sossou
Mrs P.E.Whytes,
With due respect, i wish to emind you that rhetorics can never help us in this matter. We have over flogged this issue hence time is not on our side base on the transfer provision that i have made so far. Much as i know that english is not my first language but i want to categorically tell you here that over my ten years in a bankng work, nobody has ever corrected me in english as you are doing. Remember that am not an english litrature but can only guide my self with it because of my profession. As far as this transaction is concern, english speaking is a secondary matter. What is of more important is the zeal, good cooperation and sincerity. If you are talking about seriousness, i think you are the one to be hold responsible for the delay in this business.I have demanded for your information in a good number of times and till now nothing has been received from you.Remember that in your last message, you promised to send it when next time you are writing but till now, nothing of such has been received. Concerning the statement, had i know is a brother to Mr, late, simply means that you must be careful on your dealings with the guys you mentioned their names last time so that you will not regret or blame yourself at last. I am waiting upon your response for a detail information. Respectfully, John .A. Sossou. Pearl E. Whytes
My dear Mr. Sossou,
Why do you think this is all my fault? I did say that I would send you the information you desire, but I don't know which questions you want answered. Please do forgive me, I have been writing to a Mr. Chukwu Farleigh, and he wants information, too. I can't remember what I sent you. Do you have a form for me to fill out? Thank you, Mrs. P.E.Whytes Abdoulaye Alfari

I've seen it spelled it both ways, but before I contact him, I'd like to know which is the correct spelling. Why do you address me as a man, perhaps you do not remember that I am a woman? "...Attn:Mr.Pearl E.Whytes..." I believe that I told you twice, that I am a widow lady in Strumpetshire, U.K. You must be aware that the small amount of £100 is not a problem for me (my dead husband left me very well fixed financially). I am not rich, you understand, but I have plenty to live on. I wonder, however, why you want to give me the money in United States DOLLARS, instead of British POUNDS? You do realize that the money would have to be converted to &poud;245,938 by my banker, Mr. Jack Hoff. (He may not be too keen on getting back to work at this sort of task, as he just returned to our little town, after suffering an humiliating defeat in the FlagellationFinals, Solo Division, at the FairfaxFloggingFestival, and he is NOT in good humour! Imagine being bested by that ruffian, Seymour Butts!) And now, what on Earth do you mean by this: "...to your awareness that deducting from the initial sum of $500,000.00 but due to the fact..." I don't like to appear to you to be a stupid old woman, but I am beginning to wonder if you are in such a rush to conclude this matter, that you fail to write down all the words that you mean to. Are you going to deduct the fee of £100 from the £245,938 or no? Are you truly in the banking business, don't you have a secretary to type all of your correspondence? Mr. Kelly Anderson,
When I opened my morning e-mail, I found your mail, and I was confused by this: "...sum of 1ounds pounds..." I thought about it for a while, and then it dawned on me! It was just a typo, an error! Later in the mail, I see where you've written 1000 pounds, so I know that's what you mean. But I still don't understand why you cannot deduct the E.U Transfer Statutory Deposit Charge from the $500.000 (now £&poud;44,350)just last week, the rate was £245,938, so you see, with all your delays, and dilly-dallying, my money is now worth fewer British pounds. It would certainly expedite the matter, and make it more convenient, as well, if you will get in touch with Mr. Jack Hoff at the Strumpetshire bank, and arrange to wire-transfer into my account, which I have given you the particulars. Then you may deduct your fee to secure the Payment Security Confirmation Code (PSCC) at that time. I'm sure you will agree that this would be the quickest way to do this. I shall be home all week, and I certainly hope we can conclude this business before I lose too many more British pounds--this latest delay has cost me nearly £1600. Mr. Anderson, I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you, Mrs. Pearl E. Whytes Kelly Anderson

Dear Sir,
I have just got word that the money is now worth £244,093 which is £1,845 LESS than it was worth just 2 weeks ago. What is happening to my money? I am frantic with worry! I spoke with Mr. Hoff at my bank, and he assures me that wire transfer takes only a moment or two, and does not require my having to locate a Western Union office. I can accomplish everything at the bank, without having to waste petrol travelling all over the countryside searching in the town 20km away, for a Western Union station. Another thing. In reviewing the letter sent on the 9th of October, I see the transfer fees are only £100, and last week they had increased 10-fold, to £1,000! Will you give me an explanation of this? I didn't see this error until early this morning, and I want answers! Mrs. P.E.Whytes Kelly Anderson

The Lad explains a typo, and is getting agitated...
Date: Wed, 24 Oct 2007
Attn:Mrs.Pearl Whytes, Madam we have given you enough explanation and time in this very transfer and I think is high time you understand that we have other things and not just your transfer,However like you were instructed earlier that without the required code that will enable us secure the Payment Security Confirmation Code (PSCC) that we can not be given the final instruction for the remittance of your fund into your account as we have been directed. Meanwhile, the required amount is 1000 pounds and not 100 pounds so if there is any places in any of the documents or email sent to you,you saw 100 pounds then you should know that it was a typographical erro and you should disregards it because what is required for the code that will enable remit your fund is 1000 pounds. And also note that it would not be wise for tobe lossing money due to exchange rate just because you are required to pay 1000pounds moreover western union office is everywhere so you need not to say that you are looking for it every where is a very popular place and also there is every possilities that the rate will still go down the more. Based on the above,I will advice that you proceed and make the payment as you have been direaWcted and forward the western union payment details to this bank to enable the immediate release of your fund as it has been programmed for (KTT) electronic transfer for the immediate confirmation into you bank account. Waiting for your prompt compliance. Yours Faithfully, Mr.Kelly Anderson Pearl E. Whytes
Incensed, Pearl fires back...
Dear Kelly Anderson,
I distinctly remember your first letter explaining the fees that would have to be paid before the money could be transferred. It mentioned the amount £100 TWICE. I agreed with the amount of £100 in the three responses I sent you. No word was sent by you to correct any mistake that was supposedly made--a typographical error is always a single occurance! If the cost is mentioned a second time, one believes it to be the correct amount. A short time later the cost had risen to £1000, ten times the original amount, but I didn't catch the discrepancy until 2 days ago! Usually, I see these things right away, but I guess age is beginning to catch up with me. My sons Huey, Dewey, and Louie, tell me that all the time, but I always laughed it off. Now that this thing with you and your bank is beginning to cost me more and more money, what with the pound losing value against the American dollar, and you increasing the procurement fees, I must take extreme umbrage! And, I don't like the tone of your "...I think is high time you understand that we have other things and not just your transfer..." That sort of attitude would certainly not win any customers here in Britain! Bankers here treat each customer as if he or she is their ONLY customer, and with respect and courtesy! Who do you think you are, and with whom do you think you are dealing? I am not some little old lady whom you can just order about! Either climb down from your high-horse and apologise, and act like some sort of gentleman, or you may say GoodBye to this lady. Mrs. P.E.Whytes Kelly Anderson

Waiting for your prompt compliance. Attn:Mrs.Pearl Whytes, We are really sorry if you have been offended you in the tone of our emailbut we have discussed this very issue for a very long time and like you indicated in your email that you are lossing money over the loss of dollars to pounds, however the original amount required to secure the PSCC is 1000 pounds and without the required amount there is no way we can get the final release instruction from the Central Bank of Spain. I will advice that you try as much as possibe to send the money as directed, meanwhile is your fund that we are about to transfer so there is no use telling us that you are going to leave it just for the required amount so advice that you do what you have to do immediately and get back to us to enable the prompt remittance of your fund into your nominated bank account. Waiting for your compliance. Yours Faithfully, Mr.Kelly Anderson. Pearl E. Whytes

I wrote this letter, but I won't send it yet...
Dear Kelly Anderson,
I went this morning to my bank, and I want to tell you about a very interesting conversation I had with Jack Hoff, my banker. He's been a friend for over 40 years, he went to school with my late husband, he's even godfather to one of my sons, so I trust him implicitly. When I went into the bank to see him, Jack asked me how I was, and I told him that I was about to come into a large amount of money, but I needed to withdraw some of my savings, in order to secure some documentation. "How much money are you supposed to get?" he asked. I told him that it would be nearly a quarter-million pounds, the sum mentioned was $500,000 U.S. "What's the name of the receiver bank, and did I need a wire-transfer?" Jack asked, but I told him no, the £1000 should be in cash. "A thousand pounds in CASH? Where is this money supposed to go?" I said, "I'm supposed to use Western Union, and send it to a woman in Madrid, Spain." "What bank are you dealing with?" I said, "TDBank Financial Group in Madrid, that's the EcoBank corresponding bank in Spain." After looking it up on his Bank's computer system, he said, "There's no link whatever, in the bank search. I don't think such a bank exists, and this system would know if it does!" Then, Jack proceeded to tell me about the 419-scams, and the con-men who try to swindle their victims out of many thousands of pounds! I couldn't believe it! I told him about John Sossou, and Abdoulaye Alfari, and Chukwu Farleigh, and James Goodluck, and you! He said, "More than likely, "they" are all the same scammer, working from some dirty internet cafe in Lagos, Nigeria. They tell you to send some money, then they want more, and more, and more! They don't care if you give them all your money, if you have to borrow or steal more, they don't care! Whatever you do, don't send any money to anybody! But, if you want to have some fun with him, tell him you've got the money, and you will send it, and wait to see what he does when it never comes to him." I said that I couldn't be that cruel. We said our good-byes, and I came back home. So, there you have it. I was saved by my dear old friend, Jack Hoff. I hope you have a lovely evening thinking of all the time you've wasted trying to swindle this "stupid old lady", you criminal. Mrs. Pearl E. Whytes From Western Union's website:
Remember that Western Union does not require a receiver to present a money transfer control number (MTCN) to pick up funds. But, YES! I CAN BE THAT CRUEL!! I send this one, instead. (I'll wait a week or so, then I'll send the flip-off)... Pearl E. Whytes
Dear Kelly Anderson,
The £1000 is on its way. You were right, there are Western Union offices all about. I'd never looked for one before, so it didn't make any difference to me. Recipient: MARIA PEREZ ADDRESS: CALLE MELILLA 12,289008 MADRID SPAIN. Tell your Ms. Perez the test question is: For what purpose? The answer: Payment fees. The control number is 9892739373-07 Mrs. P.E.Whytes Kelly Anderson
Date: Fri, 26 Oct 2007 Subject: Waiting for your prompt response Attn: Mrs.Pearl Whytes, Sequel to the receipt of the payment details you send to us, I wish to inform you that the MTCN is not correct so I want you to go through the receipt very well as Mrs Maria Perez was informed that the number is not 9892739371-07 moreover the number is suppose to be 10 digits number so you can as well scan the western union receipt and send it or you send it to our fax number as is stated here for our perusal 0034911814136. However, you should be rest assured that upon our receipt of the receipt either by fax or by email attachment so that we can get the right number that your fund will be remitted into your nominated bank account and the international slip sent to you for your confirmation. Furthermore, that we have scheduled your transfer for today so you should not hesitate to get back to us with the correct information. Waiting for your prompt response. Dear Kelly Anderson,
Silly me! I am so embarrassed to tell you that I mis-read the thing, I guess I should get some new spectacles from my oculist, Dr. Pierce Urlipps. He's been telling me for a few years that I should do something about my glasses, and now I've read the numbers wrong, and put you through all this turmoil and trouble. I wouldn't blame you if you truly did think you are dealing with a stupid old lady! It was all my fault, and I sincerely apologize again for putting you such inconveniences. Somehow or another, I will get him to open his optical shop for me tomorrow, and get me fixed up with some new trifocal glasses, the ones I have are almost 10 years old, Dr. Urlipps told me to replace them every 5 years, but I thought I could see all right, but your letter tells me I was wrong. Mr. Anderson, I don't know how old a fellow you are, but I warn you, take good care of your eyesight, as if you make mistakes of this nature, as I did, people will think of you as quite foolish, rather than just absent-minded. Again, my sincere regrets and apology. Mrs. Pearl E. Whytes More to come? I don't know...I waited for a reply until Tuesday, then I sent the flip-off mail at 10AM. I'll update if I get a reply... Dear Kelly Anderson,
I went this morning to my bank, and I'll tell you about a very interesting conversation I had with Jack Hoff... [...same letter I sent Tuesday...] [ ...you criminal.] Mrs. Pearl E. Whytes From Western Union's website:
Remember that Western Union does not require a receiver to present a money transfer control number (MTCN) to pick up funds.
(note from Pearl: "STICK A FORK IN 'IM. 'E'S DONE!!!")
An interesting aside, raynaz picked up her ringing phone a week or so ago, and a DECIDEDLY foreign-accented voice asked for "Pearl", actually, "Pull". Deciding to play along, raynaz asked the caller what this concerned, and was told that he represented an organization that helped fraud victims recover any money lost. He asked if Pearl had lost any money, and how much? Pulling a number from thin air,"$65,000", raynaz explained that Pearl wasn't home now, but would be available the next morning. This lad didn't explain how he got the number, which he recited as, "**-**-***-***", (in true Laddian fashion) but rang off, and called the next day. "Pearl" answered the phone, and played innocent, and told Lad that she banked at the "Bank of Arizona" and gave him a string of numbers culled from the calendar, so easily remembered. Lad wanted $395 for this 'service' of his, and Pearl kept repeating "Put the $65 thousand back into my checking account, then we'll talk about your $395." This went back and forth for a few minutes, then "Pearl" told Lad that her son, a member of the Anti-fraud Unit of the police department...(not really) had warned her about scams, and she knew what he was up to. She started laughing at him, and he called her, "Dirty bitch!" twice, and then things got really vulgar. Lad had just worked himself up to the "m-f-ing (something or another), and I hung up on him. He called right back, but I let the answer-machine get it, and was treated to a very loud tirade of profanity that I hadn't heard since the old Navy days! I turned down the volume, so I wouldn't have to hear it, and deleted the message. He hasn't called back. ~whew~ So, stick another fork in him. He's done here, too! Best, your fiend, raynaz James Goodlock

Dear Mr. James Goodluck, or is it Goodlock?
I've seen you spell it both ways, so I am unsure. Thank you for your patience, I am sorry I haven't written for some time, I've been feeling very unwell for a couple of months, so I saw my Doctor, and I'm afraid that I will have to beg your kind indulgence for a few more days. I've been informed by Doctor Dolittle that I must undergo surgery immediately! I am not sure what he suspects, but I must appear at hospital this very afternoon, to prepare for the operation! I will have to suspend our dealings for a few days, until I am well enough to return to my home. If you will be so kind, please excuse me from our business for at least 5 days. I will write you when I am able. Thank you, Mrs. Pearl E. Whytes James Goodlock

[Oh, dear! Distressing, bad news from Pearl's son...]
Mr. Jame Goodluck,
I don't know what kind of business you think you have with my mother, Mrs. Pearl E. Whytes, but it would be in your best interest to cease and refrain from any further communication with her, you would be wasting your time. She is no longer the person we knew. As you may remember, Mrs. Whytes had to undergo surgery a few weeks ago, and there were several serious complications, that resulted in her having to move into a nursing home, where she will spend the rest of her days. The doctors said it is only a matter of weeks before she will die a very unpleasant and painful death. Apparently, removal of the Sensayuma Majoris is more dangerous operation than we were led to believe. Remember my mother well, she was a loving and very generous person before this surgery. Now she is just a vegetable, waiting to die. She barely remembers me, and does not know her grandchildren at all. It is very sad. Sincerely, Hubert H. Whytes James Goodlock

To Jame Goodlock, or whatever your name is,
What fund are you talking about? Mother mentioned that she was going to get money from some guy in Africa, but I don't know the details. What kind of a deal have you got going with my mother? I want to tell her that you have contacted me, but I don't want to give her any more worries, all she does now is lie in bed and moan, but if I tell her about you, it may upset her. Are you trying to make her suffer even more, these last few days of her life? Your statements are meant to be reassuring, I know, but nothing can save her life. My mother is just too sick. Thanks anyway. I'm sure you mean well. Hubert H. Whytes James Goodlock

[6March, Thursday morning. Time to let go...]
Goodlock,
As you know, my mother became very ill following her surgery to repair her Sensayuma Majoris. It was quite apparent that she would not live beyond a few days. Too true, as she died on Monday. Yesterday, we buried her next to Dad in the cemetery. Both my brothers, Dewey and Louie, and most of the rest of the family agree with me that the main cause of her rapid decline was the constant worry about this money you were going to give her. In other words, you helped kill her. Needless to say, we are selling Mother's house, and the reading of her Will is to happen in the law offices of her long-time attorney, Hugh Jardon. This is the final e-mail message that will be sent from Mother's account, I am closing it after I send this to you. Do not waste your time to reply. Hubert H. Whytes Goodbye, Pearl, we'll miss you..~snif~... [Boggled? Seek de-bogglement on the MAIN PAGE.] |
